Koper or Capodistria is biggest city at Slovenian coast.
First fact that most people don't know is that Koper was an island from its origins, 'till the late twenties in the 20th century.
Area of Koper was setteled from the pre-history. After fall of Roman Empire Koper or Capra became part of Bysantium, and after few centuries it became a part of Serenissima (Republic of Venice). After the fall of Serenissima and after short period of Napoleon supremacy, Koper was included in Austrian (Habsburg) empire. After first world war it became a part of Italian republic. In this period Koper lost its form. It was connected with the cost. After second world war Koper was attached to Yugoslavia.
